I saw a few profiles I liked on Yahoo Personals, so I joined in order to email them. I've sent several emails in the past month, but only recieved one response (which was a turn-down message). I saw it was a waste of my time and money, so I cancelled the subscription. The cancelation was verified, but where is my refund of the un-used 5 out of 6 month subscription? The site won't even let me email anymore, so basically I just paid almost $70 for only one month's use.

I need to cancel my service. I clicked on cncel panel but the site went to the other options without any cancelations options. I was calling and waited 48 minutes even at the begining it was prommised to wait about 25 minutes, still no result. I spent my lunch waiting for yahoo phone picke up. I used Yahoo Personal dating service quite a while, and about a year ago I decided to purchase their service for 3 months so that I can send and receive messages from other users. I had no ideea that they will automatically re-new my enrolment every three months and charge my credit card every three monts for an additional $69.95 without asking my permission and without any notice. I have not used this Yahoo Dating service for the last 6 months, yet I'm still being charged. I looked on my profile home page and could not find the cancel button, or at least a customer suport phone number. I'm very dissapointed in the way Yahoo misleads users into signing up.

I cancelled my
yahoopersonals. com membership on 05/17/07 when it expired. There was NO CONFIRMATION or acknowledgement shown for my cancellation. On 05/18/07 I went back online to check my account & saw where my credit card had again been billed by yahoo, so I again cancelled, again no confirmation received for my cancellation. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER CARE / SERVICE number shown anywhere on yahoo's website to call & speak to a live person re any cancellation. So I called my credit card company to alert them that if a charge showed up from yahoo, I intended to dispute that charge. My credit card company gave me a phone number to call: 1-866-458-8744, but when I called, a recording said that the hours of operation are Mon - Fri. 6a.m. to 8p.m. PST, so I'll have to wait for 3 days to speak to a CS Rep. whom I expect NOT to accept my cancellation & refund my card. I think this Company is running a fraudulent business & all these complaints should be forwarded to the States Attorneys' Offices, Better Business Bureau & the Consumer Protection Agency. I'll be doing so.

The problem is that when you send your e-mail, it comes back blank and then you have to do it all over again. The same story happens with attachments. It takes for ages to get an attachment attached and when you press "SEND" the blank screen comes back and you got to do every all over again . Its been going on like this for a very long time now. I've been on yahoo personals for about 4 months now. Why? You ask. I dont know. I have never got a date from this site ever or even an inquiry and I consider myself to be quite a good looking guy so whats up with that? I will tell you why because 1/2 to 3/4 of those profiles are fake. The way you can tell is when you first go on to their profile it appears that they are offline...until you get on that page to try to send a message you then notice the "ONLINE NOW" icon is on. Not only is it on but its on for 24/7. I mean I can understand the logic of putting up a few profiles to give the impression of lots of available people on their site. Thats just a reality with internet dating sites but yahoo has grossly abused this trickery. Then its almost impossible to try to cancel your membership because of inaccurate cancellation instructions which you dont find out until you notice they have billed you again. So to
summize, not only do you get dissappointed for discovering their trickery but your self confidence gets destroyed wondering why nobody wants to view your profile. Its complete and utter dissapointment across the bord and to be frank someone should try a class action lawsuit. However, there is a saying that goes like this "Trick me once shame on YOU. I have been a computer technologist since before the Internet and am skilled in all interactive web functions. I am also a linguist and able to determine slanted ads, ads with spin etc.
Despite this I again signed up with Yahoo despite previous bad experiences. After a short I could no longer access my account from any of my ISPs or from public computers. Despite sending a dozen emails to them requesting access, I received only boilerplate replies which were irrelevant to my complaint.
I finally had to cancel my credit card and threaten legal action for Identity Theft, failure to act as an honest broker, misleading advertising and so on and do it several times before they removed my profile. (Putting FRAUD in your subject line may help get you a reply).

First and Foremost the 7 day trial is not free. They bill you immediatley 74.95 to recieve one week free. The supervisors and all the customer service is located in India, and no one speaks good English. They record everything (which is illegal). I wanted to do the 1 week free, they charged me 74.95 the day I signed up. Since calling to complain. They refunded my money. but has since charged 24.95 a monthly rate onto my card TWICE!!!! And I have never used the service. Customer service since located in India. Does not give you their actual worker name, but a phone code number for that actual employee, but the code numbers change all the time. Meaning everytime you call you have to explain your situation to someone else, and you are going to be on the phone for at least half hour. I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN REFUNDED MY MONEY!!!

I have continue to have my credit card charged every three months for $49.95 after cancelling my service. There is no phone number on their site to call. The site is worthless, but I did agree to the first payment, so that was my mistake. However, the fact they don't seem to want to make me a "lifetime member" is getting old and expensive. After reading a post here this morning I finally realized (duh) that I could get a phone number -- which is available NOWHERE on their site -- to call and speak to a human. (I hope.) I will be attempting this later, as it is not their "normal operating business hours" at the moment. I was on other services and had no problem cancelling with them. There is absolutely no way to tell whether or not the person you are sending a message to is a paying member, therefore now way to know whether or not they can ever respond. So a person sends out 100 messages, gets no responses, and realizes that they are the only schmuck out of 100 that actually payed the $24.95. Of course, why would people put up personal ads and then never respond to their messages... I have a theory. A.) They are not real profiles, but shills created by Yahoo. B.) People suck. C.) The Matrix has created these profiles to stimulate electrical activity in my head so I produce more BTUs.

I have been trying to cancel my Yahoo personals all morning now. I CANCELLED IT WEEKS AGO AND CLEARLY FOLLOWED THEIR PROCEDURE. Today, I recieve a statement saying that my subscription is "almost" up and that they will automatically be renewing my subscription unless I "cancel." AGAIN - I FOUND THE CANCELLATION BUTTON CLICKED AND VERIFIED. I get a message that says "THAT PAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE." FIND THE PAGE AGAIN - NOT!!!!!!!!!!! It is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I signed up for yahoo personals, Match.com and Salon Personals (I'd probably sound pretty desperate!) Last July I started a relationship, so I cancelled all three services. But at the beginning of September on my bank statement Yahoo personals had billed me for another $49.95 for three months. School had just started and I was extremely busy, so instead of look into it, I just went back to Yahoo Personals and again went back through the membership cancellation procedure. Well, in December on my Bank/Credit Card statement was yet another $49.95 charge.
This time I was ticked off. Again I went through their cancellation procedure. I also went back to the site and looked for anyway to contact Yahoo personals--impossible. No links, no addresses, no phone number that I could seen.
Fortunately, on my bank statement was an 800#. I called it up, spoke to a woman who said, "Sorry, but we have a three day cancellation period....." Well, they charged my credit card at the end of November but I couldn't know this until after the first week in December when my bank statement arrived.
The woman also told me that I was still registered to them, despite having gone through their cancellation procedure three times. She told me that she had now finally cancelled my billing. I've never ever received an e-mail acknowledgment from one of the largest internet companies on the planet. I also filed a dispute with
BofA--I'm not holding my breath.
The fact that I made three transactions with three similar companies, then cancelled all three, strongly suggests to me that Yahoo Personals is basically operating a scam. I have a screen capture of their cancellation page if needed.
The steps are as follows: I clicked on the link to cancel the service, that opens a page (my screen capture,) which says,"How do you want to pay for this service?" My credit card number is partially revealed. I'm given the choice of two buttons, "Continue" or "Cancel." What would the reasonable person do?
The worse part is after attempting to cancel the service three times, calling them up and being told I am now cancelled and filing a complaint with my
bank/creditcard--I still have not received any e-mail confirmation that they are not going to rip me off a third time two months from now.
One last point. All these services continue to send updates of new people to meet. So the fact that I continue to receive "Your new matches on Yahoo Personals"(they were 'new' for about a month, but have remained essentially the same dozen people for a year now) is no indication that I was still being charged. All these services will only prompt a renewal offer to sign-up only if attempt to contact another member. Which, being more trustworthy than Yahoo Personals, I didn't do.

I just signed up with Yahoo Personals today because they advertised I could have 7 days free trial. Yahoo said they would not bill me until December 16, 2006. As soon as I gave them my visa check card number, they immediately took out $74.95 plus another $1.00 out of my bank account. I was supposed to have 7 days to see if I even liked it! I have been requesting a fix for Mail Plus that restricts emails to 10MB rather than the 20mb for Mail Plus. I have been trying to have the matter resolved for more than three weeks. On the help page, under "How do I cancel my subscription", instructions are given to click on a "cancel" link that does not exist. I typed the words "How do I cancel my account" into the search line, and got no further help.
What if restaurants locked you in so that you would eat more? What if cruise ships failed to return to port so that you'd have to pay for another week? No one else does business like this!

I signed up on October 12,2006, to take advantage of the 7 day free trial period and was to be billed for one month, 24.95. On October 16, my account was debited for 99.95 and 24.95. I have been trying unsuccessfully to have the money put back into my account. The first time I called, they ended up just cancelling the

On 9-12-06 Yahoo billed my credit card for Yahoo Finance for $131.40. I signed up for and paid for this service a year ago- I did not understand or benefit from it nevertheless, I was stuck with something I didn't want. I have not used Yahoo's web based financial application for months, yet they renewed my subscription for this service and after callig twice I was told that the supervisor who I was never allowed to speak too, said those were the terms of service so they will not credit my account. While legal, this is not right and in my opinion is a deceptive marketing tactic. I will certainly never use or recommend Yahoo again- I have now changed my web browser default to MSN.

I can go there right now and pick out dozens of bogus female profiles: they are the ones with sexy, drop dead gorgeous looks, the description that says they are Christian and warm-hearted, easy-going looking for same, with terrible grammar and punctuation. What they are looking for in a man almost always reads age 18-20, with "any" on everything else. I was involved with Christopher from saint cloud mn for almost 3 weeks. Sweet man until he sent me counterfit 30-$100 to send back to him in a foreign country. He is back on personals under the town of Wood Lake NE. I just don't want to see anyother woman hurt like I was. I believed in him etc.. I was smart and took the money to the police station and they sent it to the FBI in Minneapolis. I just do not want him to hurt anyone else. I feel that it is important to send you this information. Too Bad some men have to play these games with good women. Thank you for letting issue this complaint.

It's not just Yahoo personals it personal sites, These bimbo oops I mean women say what they want good quilities in a man and looks really aren't
importent, they email once or twice(sometimes even starting the contact) saying they like what read then ask for a picture and once they see it it's the big blow off, my personal favorite is "Sorry, I don't we are compatible" Funny you didn't think that before picture.
These women need to start to be more honest in thier profiles put any for all there "About My Match" when that isn't what they mean, also some of these women want
Mr.universe/Bill Gates when they aren't all that good looking and some say thier size average when it is large so unless they are comparing themself to elephant they aren't average.
Also most Mr.universe and/or bill gates type isn't going to for a woman with kids.
If these woman were all that they wouldn't be on yahoo and sometimes even divorced
What makes Yahoo bad is they lead people into believeing that they can match people up and charge them for it, maybe things would be better if they would none paying members reply to members who have paid but I have my doubts.
The only Yahoo personals gives you little less money in your bank account, take that money you would have spent on Yahoo personals and spend it on something else, setting the money on fire would be more useful then spending it on yahoo personals.

Hello Ive esperianced most of the complaints Ive read concerning yahoo personals and have live thru them all, from credit card charges to failed attemts to contact yahoo.
How bout a class action lawsuit?
Might get them to do what thay say thay do. I dont like lawyers but nothing else works.

Have been a member for about 3 months. I am still waiting for my my pic to be approved. My ad is still not coming up online. I have a friend that this has happened to also. He called yahoo personals to try and get his money back since he had signed up for 3 months and on the third to the last day finally they approved his
pic. They would not give him any refund on his premium account. Will try and cancel mine also. I think the phone number to personals is 866-458-8744. will try tomorrow and see if I can cancel my ad.

I have found this villa rental company advertising with yourselves on the 30/8/2006 sent off £60.00 to regiser my villa with them and to date am unable to contact this company!!! I have now received an email from another person trying to contact this company. Is there a company policy to make sure that only repuitable companys advetise on your site.

CANNOT CANCEL! Tried calling the 866 number on this page. I pressed the appropriate menu #3 and a recording told me I had to cancel online. Could not get to a human! Guess I'm going to call my bank also. Somebody has to stop them. I would if I knew how.

I cancelled my subscription over a month ago but recently got a notice saying they were going to charge me for a 6-month subscription on auto-renewal. I went online to cancel for the second time but could not find a cancel option. I tried to e-mail my complaint(and to cancel service) but the address is conveniently out of service. I ended up calling my bank to stop payment so Yahoo Personals won't be able to take my money for a service I don't want!!!!!!!!!!!

Not that you will probably listen or even take any action on this matter. But the bots are really taking over chat rooms. 10 bots in l room is way too much. Yahoo should make some kind of limitations on this matter because is prevents real human beings from getting in a chat room sometimes.

In January 2006 I joined yahoo persoanls for 1 year thinking I would find a lady partner. I have sent out many, have met only two women, both were not suitable
and in July I asked fro refund for the rest of the year. They said No. I SCANNED THROUGH THE ENTIRE 835 WOMEN ON THE SITE AND FOUND SEVERAL OF THEM HAD THEIR PHOTOS REPEATED TWO OR THREE TIMES. When I complaine dthe reply wasa deafening silence. Since then I have sent out numerous emails to various women but have not received any replies. I think my profile in in limbo. It looks like it is working and active but is not connected to anything so nobody ios getting my messages.

Initially subscribed for 3 months. They automatically charge me for another 3 months on the first day after three months. On I asked them to stop my service. I offered to pay for a month, but they refused to take this, and kept charged me for 3 full months. I find their action totally dishonest.

I signed up for 7 day free trial that was to go through 9-3-06. I cancelled on 9-3-06, but my billing history says my card has already been charged for service I don't want. In the 7 day trial period, there was no real coverage for people who live in my area (2), and even in an extended area, there were no appropriate matches. Please cancel the charge to my card and cancel Yahoo Personals.

I Never went ahead with actually paying for the service, only did the "free trial" but now continue to get daily pages of possible matches and the inticement to join. There is no customer service to unsubscribe or even send an e-mail. Crappy way of doing business. Karen in CA
