Reviews of online dating services including Match.com, personals, singles, and matchmaking sites. Online single ads when love is involved can make online matchmaking sites advertise promises they can't deliver. Beware of Match.com. Below are just a few consumer complaints about Match.com. Tell us about your Match.com dating experience. Match.com Consumer Complaints about their Single online Dating Matchmaking Personal Ad website

Match_Consumer_Complaints

A shuda complaint. I shuda read this site before hooking up with any lovelorn fortune tellers. Wanta sign with a group that only leads you to sites from which you cannot possibly escape, while you are subtlely and not so subtley teased and insulted? Try Yahoo Singles. Now I am in the clutches of Match getting no answer from Help. The U.S. gov. used to have a customers-been-robbed department.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was to marry a man that I met on Match.com who, unfortunately turned out to be a full blown sociopath who has spent his life scamming people out of money. I absolutely do not hold Match.com responsible for that nightmare, as we all sign up of our own free will. I did write a letter to Match.com telling them of the circumstances and asking if here were any way they could block this man from joining in the future, as this man is a danger to anyone he would come in contact with through their site. I am very sad to say that they never responded to my letter. Please be careful with anyone you may become involved with on any dating site. There are many professionals out there.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I subscribed, then you lost me for three weeks, and I finally had to rejoin I only have ONE choice of women to look at, why? I submitted a new photo, and it has not yet been changed. Earlier, I had a choice of nine women to study, until I found out that you guys told me I was not a member, I had given credit card numbers, but they never did file the ccharges, so nothing appeared on my bills from the credit card co. That was when I called and was told they never heard of me, but I was on your service all that time, but could not write an e-mail, and all of my profile had gone away somewhere. Wos. Please fix photo changes and give me some choices. uffdas

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I'm a single good looking woman with a postgraduate degree and no children. Match canceled my subscription for reporting a member who made me concerned for my safety. I've written them many times and they won't respond. I had paid for 6 months and they only canceled me after 3 weeks. I can't believe that Dr. Phil would promote such a site that has no concern for their members!!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

to: I'm a 44 year old post graduate degreed female that is in great shape. There is a match.com rule among the males: after date 3, you're in the sack, if not, hit the road. I'm disgusted with the internet dating game. There's always someone better and a click away. Don't go with Match! Guys call it snatch.com!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com was showing me each month of my 6 month membership my progress towards a free 6 months if I didn't find anyone- well I didn't and the cancelled my subscription! When I contacted them they said I didn't have that kind of agreement with them. If it was worth hiring a lawyer I would but it would cost more than the fee to resubscribe. I can't believe they get away with this.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

My complaint would take up way too much room to go into it all. I will give you the brief...their customer service department is awful. I ended up having to go to court because of one of the other Match memembers who had several D.V. convictions and ended up harassing me when I told him it was over. After getting what seems to be par for the course run around and my safety becoming an issue. I contacted the CEO of the company. If you want to get your issue resolved DO NOT go through customer service. each department in Match does not seem to have a number for the next department. Cut through all the crap and just contact the office of the CEO. By contacting the CEO or the office of the CEO things seem to change drastically. All else fails contact Mark Swindale who works in the CEO's office and keep calling till the issue is resolved!!!! Mark Swindale-214.576.9384 (direct line)

Match_Consumer_Complaints

It seems pretty obvious - many of the people out here are just plants by match.com to get people to sign up. It's been in a local paper that match has their employees pictured on the sight (no doubt the attractive ones) trying to get people to join.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Men to women ratio on Match or Yahoo is right around 100 to 1. Don't waste your time, guys. By the time a woman has been a member a week, she's no longer even reading e-mails. I sent 45 e-mails to girls on match.com and another 15 to girls on yahoo. I have a nice profile, nice picture, I'm in shape, intelligent, and I had FIVE of these girls even LOOKED at my profile. None wrote back. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. THE GIRLS ARE STUCK UP, JADED, AND WON'T RESPOND TO E-MAILS.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I refuse to pay the costly membership fees for your website. You give me a so-called free trial, but I cannot send any e-mails. I have sent numerous winks, but how do I know that they actually were received? You constantly throw my matches in my face just teasing, but I cannot and will not pay for your outrageous membership fees. Dr. Phil makes more money than any of us put together, and I see nothing but greed.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I subscribed to match.com for their 3 day membership deal on Sunday 29 Apr 2007. I found out that I could not send emails to members. Thinking that this was a marketting game to get me subscribe, I chose 3 month membership and became a full member on Monday 30 Apr 2007. But I still couldn't send emails to members. I called their Customer Care several times since. They simply told me it was not their fault and it must be my PC. I asked for the Technical Department's phone number so they can walk me thru the process of changing settings on my PC if that is really the problem. But they do not give out their Tech Dept number. They told me they filled out a complaint or problem form and send it to the Tech Dept and Tech Dept would respond to me within 24 to 72 hrs. That was on Wednesday. On Thursday I also send a message to the Tech Dept explaining my problem. Yesterday, Friday, May 4, I received a standard message from Customer Service. They tell me to read their FAQs. I had already read them several times looking for an answer to my problem to no avail. Here it is Saturday morn, it has been 7 days and I still can't send one damn email. I have dozens of members emailing me, winking at me and I can;t respond. This is very frustrating. I can't get any help from your Customers Service and no response at all, no calls, no emails, from your Tecnical Department. I tried signing in from other computers and got the same problem. I SIMPLY ASK THEM FOR HELP SO I CAN SEND EMAILS TO MEMBERS! After all they have already been paid and you don't even bother to have their Tech Dept fix this problem or call me and tell me what I need to do. I can go into any site and send emails within other dating services. I have already turned off my ZoneAlarm and brought down my Internet Security to LOW. What else do I need to do? How do I get action from these people? Do write to their CEO? Does anyone heve his email addy or phone number?

Match_Consumer_Complaints

i know longer want to be part of match.com. please delete me of the system

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com has not honored their 6 month Make Love Happen Guarantee. I was a member for 6 months, met all the requirements, called and emailed customer service, issue still not resolved.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up and paid for 3 months. Before the expiry I have cancelled and went through the procedure online as it was indicated. Two months later I discovered a charge from Match.com on my visa card - I have never gotten a decent reply from them and my money has never been refunded. I am so disappointed and will never give out my cc number on the internet again. After having read some of the complaints here I am convinced that by getting the first payment from the visa cards they are practically stilling our money until you actually cancel it at your bank. Hence I will have to cancel my visa card and still hassle for the $50.97dollars they have stole for me against my will. There don’t even offer any plan with the exact amount above... It is a total scam a very disheartening modern scam.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I also was on match.com met a man and said he lived in florida and then he was on his way to nigeria to work. I have continued to talk to him and then I found out that he was lying to me and contacted Dr. Phil about endorsing this web site and never got any respond what so ever. I have tried several times to email Dr. Phil and haven't heard a word. I don't know if this guy is scamming me, but some of the storeies sound like it may be true.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR BANK STATEMENTS! My brother-in-law signed up for match.com I think it was October of 2006. I use my check to pay for the subscription and the first payment I did authorize. However 3 months later...$50.97 was withdawn from my account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION OR MY AUTHORIZATION. At this point I was very upset, I could have had an overdraft of a returned check on my account. I called them and explaind the situation and told them he only use their service for one month (even though he paid for 3 months) and didn't go back on the site. The told me that they automatically renew the service in 3 months. I told them this charge WAS NOT AUTHORIZED and I needed a refund. She then put me on hold and said she needed to talk to her manager. My account was credited back shortly there after. I also told her to cancel the account. Well, I thought this situation was over until now April 2007. A couple days ago my brother-in law told me an email was sent to him saying thank you for re-activating your account (which he did not do) So I called them immediatly to make sure that now no money was taken from my account again without authorization. She told me that the account is showing that it was cancled. I am closing that bank account to ensure no charges will ever be made to my account. MY ADVICE: IF YOU SIGN UP FOR MATCH.COM PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO YOUR STATEMENTS!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I paid for six months..the end.. No..I was charged again for 6 months without my approval or being notified of their intent. I found the charge on my credit card online and cancelled within three days of being charged. I e mailed match.com customer service and cancelled. They said,NO refunds.I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and think it is a good idea to cancell your credit card to be sure you won't be charged again. This website is full of people continuously being charged against their wishes..without being refunded.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

This is not a story, and I assure you I am not trying to solicit another sight but rather a don't get mad, get even policy. Post on this page the idea of " Be sure your profile has a PIC that shows a billboard of <example> PlentyOfFish.com in it" or here is how to sneak in your info to one of the many truly free dating sights. 'I am an avid fisherman. I love to fish com e springtime with plenty of bait' or 'in life a collar is me favorite site on a woman.' Eventually it will work Ciao

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up with Match.com for 30 days and continued to be hit by scam artists. I reported it numerous times to Match and never heard a response. I told them that it was evident that they had a criminal ring working out of Nigeria and if I did not have a response in 48 hours that I was sure a local TV station would be interested. I still never had a response from Match but the TV station producer responded to me in less than 24 hours. I had also told Match that the criminals appeared to be lifting profiles for their scam. There is the first problem. They should have technology to keep profiles from being copied and pasted. I find it sad that Dr. Phil endorses this site. Maybe someone should e-mail his show and raise a red flag.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I resigned my subscription to Match.com late Jan. 2007. Later in March I found Match was still billing my credit card. I contacted their customer service though a series of e-mails that turned out to be a run-around. Ater stating their policy didn't allow for refunds they then sent me an e-mail reguarding auto-renewal for my convenience. I restated to Match the problem was Match continued to charge my account for two months after I resigned without authorization. Match has not replied! As a side note, I've seen other sites drag their feet in discontinuing charges after cancelling membership. I have to wonder; is it accidental or are some of these dating sites intentionally defrauding their customers?

Match_Consumer_Complaints

My complaint is that after 2 weeks, and 60 e-mails sent, I have received ZERO responses. I am very attractive, fit, no kids, good job, so why if the ratio is 5 men to 1 woman am I getting Nada? All I get are winks (NEVER e-mails) from older, bald retired men, and extremely attractive men at least 2,000 miles away. Sounds fishy to me....Of course, they tell me it has to do with my spam guard. Funny, when I respond to winks, I get e-mails back. Very disillusioned.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I am writing about charges to my credit card. I signed up for a trial membership 7 days, cancelled and just noticed charges. I called the telephone number that was on my billing statement and was told they can only credit me back 4 months. I said this was not good enough and asked to speak to a supervisor and of course there was none, I asked to speak to the billing department and was told they did not have a telephone number. I would like someone to contact me at jakopacz@comcast.net. thank you

Match_Consumer_Complaints

The way it looks to me, is I'm not going to get any photos on your site! Last week, you said my photo had been accepted; today you said 3 times to re-submit; so, do I have any photos on match or not? Connie Bearden cowsrgreengold@yahoo.com/ cb2gether

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I have been a computer technologist since before the Internet and am skilled in all interactive web functions. I am also a linguist and able to determine slanted ads, ads with spin etc. Despite this I again signed up with Match despite previous bad experiences. After some days I could no longer access my account from any of my ISPs or from public computers. Despite sending a dozen emails to them requesting access, I received only boilerplate replies which were irrelevant to my complaint. I finally had to cancel my credit card and threaten legal action for Identity Theft, failure to act as an honest broker, misleading advertising and so on and do it several times before they removed my profile. (Putting FRAUD in your subject line may help get you a reply). Their tollfree number is permanently not available They have not responded to my request for a refund.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

In 2006, I signed up for six months of service and was billed $80. After about a week I was harassed by another member. I responded to him asking what was his deal and the next thing I know, Match terminated my membership and would not tell me why. I contacted them for several weeks and they would not let me access my profile. Finally I challenged it with my bank but they lied to my bank and made it look as though I was still a member by providing as proof, emails I had never written. So my bank let them keep the money. I was robbed.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed in for a month. I kept being charged over and over... I phone, I wrote, it was a game with them.... At one point I had to cancell my credit card to stop them from charging me!!!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

My ex is suing me claiming I am a bad father because I am no re-married but supposedly still looking for women on match.com. although I cancelled my membership match refuses to remove my profile while making me think they did so. my ex printed out my profile although i deleted it, which i tried unsuccessfully to do again yesterday. my ex actually submitted my old profile to the court with a notice to appear, all because match wants to make it look like they have more members than they really do.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Though I am a member of Match.com I cannot gain access to the site. I need direction on this. In addition, at least 2-3 weeks ago I asked a couple of questions the most important of which was "is there a charge for emails sent? Please respond asap directly to my email box which address is in your system. thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I joined Match.com because I received 3 emails as a non member. Upon joining I checked the emails and they were fraudulant. I submitted to get my refund which I did but they will not let me join now as I took advantage of there marketing ploy after being duped to join in the first place. Lawsuit!! Please!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

my email adress is schweigerfamily1@aol.com. please stop sending me emails im not interested in joining right now.my user name is jewel1957bug.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I joined Match.com for a 6 month period on 20 January, 2007. The amount came to a little over $100.00. I received an attack and threat from a member on 08 February, 2007. I reported this member via the required forms at Match. I did not reply to this member's attacks against me. The following day I started to receive notes from Match.com saying I had broken "rules" and my membership could be "terminated." They said I could only get the info via a subpoena. I asked for reasons and a refund, all unanswered. Yesterday, 13 February 2007, I received a letter from Match.com saying my membership was terminated due to the good of the community! I haven't done anything except ask for my money to be refunded! In order to get a subpoena in Josephine County where I live, a person has to go before the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury does not give out subpoenas for things such as this. Match refuses to address the over $100.00 they owe me, and will not say what I did wrong, which is absolutely nothing!!! I will paste their letter below: Case ID: 1036208 -----Original Message----- From: MatchET [mailto:abuse@match.com Sent: Tuesday, February 13, 2007 2:46 PM To: Contessray Subject: Match.com/Subpoena Dear Contessray, Thank you for taking the time to write us. Due to our privacy practices, Match.com cannot disclose the specifics leading to the termination of your account; though, we believe this action was in the best interest of our member community. Feb. 3, 2007 At one point, I joined Match.com - paying for a full year of membership. I got a lot of responses, but maybe three of those folks were of interest, so after my time was up, I resigned. I left my profile on-line, and would get an occasional email or wink. Match used to send you the emails, then changed their rules (without also stating it in their "policies" section) so that the only way you could even read the email was if you had paid. I tried to contact customer service to ask about this, and never got a response. So, I decided to take advantage of the "Free" 3-day membership, and take a look at my emails. Within the allotted time frame, I'd send the letter to Plano, asking to cancel the free membership. Well, evidently there's another little rule that isn't mentioned anywhere on their site - you can't do that more than once. So, I'm banned from Match (see letter below) but given what I consider to be unethical business practices, and a total lack of customer service when you have a question or problem, I'm thinking it's not much of a loss. Check out www.plentyoffish.com and urge all your friends to use them instead! And here's the email I FINALLY got from those sweet folks at Match: (and I love how they told me how to get answers to the most commonly asked questions, although if I've been kicked out, why would I care ?... yet another canned response!!) i signed up on match.com for 3 months and now i find out they keep billing another 3 months when the 1st 3 months have ended .. i got no emails saying i was billed .. to make it short they said too bad,no refunds .. when you subscribe you choose what plan you want so i choose 3 months and figured when the time is up its just finished .. they are very deceptive and fall back on no refunds, they say i had to cancel and didnt,if thats the case why have different plans .. thats fraud and im not letting it go

Match_Consumer_Complaints

something needs to be done about these people, match.com is a rip off, i'm assuming other sights are too, now that i have seen how it works,MATCH.com NEEDS TO GO DOWN! enter the sight and let everyone know it's a scam. they view your submission, so be smart about letting others know they are being ripped off!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I submitted my Visa information when a free trial period was offered and that was a mistake. I have tried to 'resign' from this organization online but am being charged CAD$71.74. I've tried to reason with them with the Customer Service dept and tried to talk to them on the phone and have been thwarted each time. They don't respond to the CS e-mail and the phone number supplied tells me--over and over again--"your request cannot be completed . . . ." This is a very successful way of charging unwilling customers and of which potential customers should be aware.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

match has a major problem on it's hands -with in 1 day of joining, I was swept into a scam - ultimately I was solicited to wire 2000+ overseas - then solicited to"help a girl that was being followed by a PI who wanted her to testify at a trial..." called Match - could not care less. searched the web for IC3 - FBI's site for web-fruad complaints - hey, what do you know - they seemed to care - a lot

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I registrated Match.com at Jan 13 because I just wanted to try 3 free trail. And Jan. 16, I found something at my bankaccount that was withdrew 175.44$ by Match.com. After that, I registrated a cancellation, immediately. And I sent email and message that I want a cancellation about Match.com, everything. And I want refund. Because I didn\'t know about the pay(subscribe). I sent email every day. But they didn\'t answer my email. And finally yesterday I got a email. But the answer was \"no refund\". I totally can\'t understand and I think that is kind of cheating because they didn\'t notify that free trial is over or you have to pay to me. I really didn\'t know about that. I\'m very angry now. And I really want refund. That money is really big money to me. I don\'t want any information of Match.com(kinds of email) and I want to remove all my information from Match.com.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

After reading all the comments I'm kicking myself for not being more careful. I signed up for one month on match.com. That one month was up today. I've just got back from the ATM machine where I discovered that I can't withdraw any cash. I checked my account online and sure enough, I've been billed by match for a second month. I didn't notice a feature called `subscription renewal`. They don't warn you about this feature and it's not broadcast loudly on your account...and of course, this `option` is not chosen by the subscriber, because it's automatically switched on. I've sent an email asking for my money back and notifying them that I signed up for ONE MONTH ONLY, but judging by the past comments it looks like I just got scammed out of $50 at a time when I really can't afford that to happen.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

After having received multiple solicitations from Match.com for a FREE 3-day trial, I clicked to their link and accepted the offer. I cancelled the subscription within 48 hours because of technical difficulties. I contacted their help desk on September 6 and was told there was nothing technically wrong, but was still unable to access their services, I just kept getting sent back to the subscription page. Yesterday, when I received my Visa bill, I called Match.com and asked that they issue a credit since I had cancelled within 48hours of my FREE 3-day trial. The customer (no) service rep insisted I had subscribed for the full 30 days and refused to issue a credit. I told her I had followed THEIR solicitation to THEIR link to the FREE 3-day trial. There were no boxes to check for the FREE 3-day trial, only other time increments, so I checked the shortest amount of time, which was 30 days. It was my impression, based on their solicitations, that I had 3 days to cancel without penalty. I also told her I was unable to access their services and that I had requested help to no avail. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The rep told me that her supervisor would only tell me the same thing: no refunds allowed. Nonetheless, I insisted on speaking to a supervisor. The next woman who got on the line -- who I suspect from her very unprofessional comportment --was NOT a supervisor. She was rude, loud and completely inappropriate. I asked to speak with her supervisor. She told me her supervisor was not available and took my name and phone number. No one has called me back yesterday nor today. II feel I am a victim of “bait and switch” and refuse to pay. I was under the impression, based on their solicitations, that if I cancelled within 3 days there would be no charges. I did just that. Not only was I unable to technically access their services, but I was billed for absolutely no service whatsoever. This is a fraudulent charge. I plan to file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs in the state of Texas, with the Better Business Bureau of Dallas, with the Federal Trade Commission and anyone else who will listen.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was on match.com and I cancelled my membership because I had thought I met someone legit but then he turned into scam artist asking me for money! I emailed match.com to tell him of my concerns but they never responded to my complaints.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I ran into nothing at this website. All they wanted was money. So I closed my credit card and got another one, now my credit union is observing them, so they just might get into serious trouble. I ran into a friend of mine on this site, come to find out he wanted just one thing. I told him a few things and stated to never contact me again. Jerk!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

on match.com i was going to try the trial but i cancelled it then i was charged 3 months for it. then in october i was reimbursed 39.98 dollars 3 time for the money that was taken out. on december 29th match.com took 131.88 they claim they dont have me on file. they claimed that the main super visor was a male and all i got was some fake supervisor name amber they lie and stole from me i am a very sick person and cant afford to be defrauded

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was charged 86.00 for something I did not know about. Is there anyone who can tell me what to do or how to stop these people

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I do not agree with Dr. Phil that it is so easy to find someone. I have tried for 5 years now, and I have more nightmare stories everytime. You go out with these men and when their are some problems, they are not willing to compromise. So tell Dr. Phil it is not easy to find someone. Men are just selfish and very inconsiderate. I have a book on the stories about my dating men.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I have had similar bad experiences with match.com. YOU SHOULD BE FOREWARNED. It is a highly unethical business and our only hope in that Eliot Spitzer shows up at their door someday. You will spend money on people, thinking that you will get a response, and you won't. That's because they are not real. They post fake profiles of people that don't even exist. Your best bet is to look for someone through the old tried and true methods of friends, work, and family. Their CEO, one Mr. Safka, is a liar, a cheat, and a crook. I would rather spend an hour with bin Laden than this asshole. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SEND THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. WE NEED TO PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up for six months, but was billed for a year. I didn't realize the fraud for some months later. What caught my attention was that I was billed for another year when I had tried to cancel. As with many other complaints, I was unable to reach them by phone. The number given to me to call was given to me by Mastercard Canada. I tried that number over 30 times over a 3 week period. Every time I called it said that Match.com was unable to complete my call at this time. Once I registered a formal complaint with Mastercard and sent a few emails threatening legal action, I recieved a message from Match.com indicating that they had uncovered fraudulent use of my card on their end. Mastercard has subsequently got my refund from the bogus billing and oddly enough Match.com has refunded my original amount. Steve Toronto, Canada

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I joined on a Tuesday. I cancelled on Friday using the match.com online cancellation system. I did not receive a confirmation on Friday so I tried to call but there was no phone number to call. I sent another e-mail on Saturday to verify my cancellation. Match did not acknowledge my first e-mail and then billed me for six months. I am in the process of disputing the charges.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I had signed up for match.com, I used it for a while then dropped it. When I accessed/created an account through AOL my original account was reactivated and the fee was billed from my Credit card.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I am a single mom and foolishly bought one month of match.com when they sent me multiple emails telling me that someone was trying to contact me. I selected one month only. They charged me for a second month via my debit card, and which caused my checking account to be overdrawn. I called match.com and they refused to refund me the monthly fee, even though it was the next day, and I had not used their service for the month I would be charged. I didn't ask for the refund of overdraft fees. I told them I would look into a class action lawsuit, and would report them to the BBB. Still, they kept my thirty bucks. These people are ruining the trust of consumers and online commerce. They should be penalized, or put out of business.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

They continue to charge $37.30 to my credit card even though I stopped this service with in the first 14 days of subscription. I have called and talked to there customer service as as requested of me by the credit card company. There customer service had agreeded to remove the last charge at that time and RE-Cancel that service which was already canceled six months ago, but what they did do was apply a double charge to my card this month. I have had to call my credit card company and report fradulant charges to my card and to have it canceled in order to put a stop to this. Match.Com appears to be based in Dallas, Texas! I am planning to contact the District Attorney's office in Dallas, Tx and report these scammers! Match.com was a scam right from the start! There should be away to report that website as a scam site as well! Scammed By Match.Com

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com BUYER BEWARE. Be aware they automatically "renew" your subscription even though you've signed up for limited 3-month subscription. They tried to tell me that they didn't have a refund policy...ask for the supervisor. Match.com is THE biggest scam on the internet.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com is a master of hitting your credit card in the middle of the night, and when you question them about it, they say they have a "no refund" policy. They charge you for six months (or whatever) in advance. I tried to resign on 11/26 after getting wind of the payment, and it said fine, but you'll be able to access the site through 5/27/07 ... what sort of sense is that? I would assume some people just say, "OK, since I'm on for six months, keep me a member," then they get hit again in May. Even at that, many businesses would at least say "OK, you're not satisfied, here's a refund and thank you for your previous business." Not this bunch. To be honest, it wasn't that great a service to begin with, which is why I had even forgotten they had my credit-card number. I would advise anyone who can't afford to toss away more than $100 a year to avoid Match.com like the plague.

>> just read some complaints about >> match and all i can say is...i >> think its great!!!i have lots of >> success and for those that have >> posted that they don't >> ...well...maybe its YOU and not >> match... I agree. Nobody wants to admit that THEY might be the problem. I've had success on both Match.com and Yahoo Personals. The atrocious spelling and grammar in some of these comments is somewhat telling.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was a paid member and when I looked at who I was being matched with, they had put on my profile I was looking for married men and seperated men. Atheist and agnostic men. Men that drank heavily and smoked. It was like everything I said I didn't want, they said I wanted! I was totally embarrassed by this error and hid my profile half way through my paid month and sent an email to them. Then I sent three more as my membership was nearing expiration. Amazingly as my membership expired I finally received an email acknowledgement of a problem. And that was it!! My money was gone, I was embarrassed and they didn't care because they had my money. DO NOT USE MATCH.COM

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up for Match.com's 3 day FREE trial. The terms state you have to give your credit card number, but if you cancel within the 3 day timeframe, your card will not be charged. I cancelled on Day #2, even got a termination confirmation number, yet my credit card was still charged. I'm still fighting this. Upon emailing Match's customer service several times, none of my emails were answered. Upon calling them, my calls were "mysteriously" dropped soon after I voiced my grievance.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Is it true that Dr. Phil is the sponsor of Match.com? If he is, I would be willing to bet he doesen,t know what's going on. He would not jeopardize his business with something like match.com. I was contacted by a law firm in LA, and they are in the process of preparing a class action law suit against M.C. M<C< also charged me for three months serivice, when I explicity told them I wanted only one month. Now, how can I stop them from taking more out of my account, or charging my debit card, without paying a charge to my bank to stop payment?

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Signed up for trial 3 month membership. They continued to bill me after trial period was up. I tried to contact them but they have made that almost impossible. The service is of limited value and quality of people on match, well.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I agree with the guy complaining about big butts. The nature of match is that if you have a good-looking face, that is enough. I met a guy who was enormous also. I think most of us prefer someone who is decent overall.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Scorpiowomekitty I am not Gay. You keep sending me women. I am looking for single men around sixty. So please stop sending me women. This is upsitting me.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Meeting women on Match is like meeting women while kayaking on a river. They look fine above the waist, but most have ginormous asses. Women hate that men discriminate against women with big butts, but they would never date a short man. If I wanted to date a woman with an ass so big she has to get a run at doorways, I would ask out the girl at the drive-up window at Dairy Queen.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

match.com - been there, done that for nine months. Very simply put, the people on match are single for a reason. I met many people through match, and they all had major issues - most were taking various anti-depressants, had severe credit issues, you name it. They ALL had issues. ALL of them. My opinion? You stand a better chance meeting someone normal through the usual routes - mutual friends, etc. Good luck!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Wrong city, right zip code. I've been a subscriber to match.com for several months. My problem with match.com started about a bit over a week ago. I noticed that my profile had me listed as living in the wrong city.I told them about this, and got a canned response about going into my account settings, which I already knew. They only allow me to give my zip code, from which they generate the city. The catch is, they now generate the WRONG city from my zip code. My city only has one zip code, so I can't just use another from this city in hopes it might generate the right city in my profile. I've lived in this city 19 years, and the US Postal service confirms my zipcode. So here I am, trying to meet dates, but they all think I live in a different city than I actually do.

if you are a male and over 40 and appreciate younger attractive women[28-38 years old] this service is a nitemare. every mutual or reverse search turns up dozens of results that are in fact nigerian CON artists. after experiencing a few..by email exchanges requesting that you "chat" on yahoo messenger..you can spot the multiple profiles using the exact same "wording" different users with the same pictures, poorly written grammer..what is astounding is the sheer quantity/percentage. approx 90% of anyone that is attractive is a hustle

Match_Consumer_Complaints

My complaint is more for the unwary people who people who pay out good money to message others on match.com. I was once a paid member at a time when as being one you could message a trial member and they could reply. These days however, if you are a member and message a trial member the trial member doesn't even know who the message is from and is required to become a paid member even just to view their profile. In the meantime the member who has sent the message is wondering why there has been no reply. I have read the 'Terms of Use Agreement' many times over and am unable to see where it makes the subscriber aware of this. The only reason I stay on the site is that I have been able to put my contact details in my profile without being detected and am able to make contact with those that are able to figure it out. This idea also eliminates ungenuine profiles, as you know your prolile has been read to figure out the contact clues.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up for one month of match.com. Imagine my surprise when I started getting winks and emails from models who live in my rural area, and couldn't complete a complete English sentence. Sentences like, "Me be loyal to mate", and "Must be good of the intelligence. When I emailed them back, I got the "My parents died" story, and "I need money". I complained to match.com, only to get a simple "we're care about customer satisfaction" email. To their credit, most of the winks and emails from these "models" stopped. Then, I began searching for a mate, sending multiple emails and passing multiple winks, only to have the same exact problem. Maybe 1 out of 20 would answer an email or wink, and they always turned out to be those poor souls whose parents just died and need money. If you are a male, you are wasting your time and money on match.com. I cannot vouch for the females, as of course, I didn't meet any.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was getting e-mails from an individual that was in another state telling a story that they were in Africa working and would be returing home soon. This happened to me twice. I also renewed a subsription for one month and paid for that month and then cancelled the subscription not to renew and I have been charged for another month on my credit card I am not happy with match.com I have contacted the credit card co and I will be filing a dispute, I do not want to be a member at this time. carol

Match_Consumer_Complaints

i also get about 100 hits per week and i have asked match to allow their paying members to be able to get in touch with me so that i can find out who is interested in me because afterall isn't that what their service is about? why should both parties pay.If i were the one looking to get in touch with a man than i would pay. but who has time to look thru them when so many are interested in me...

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Several years ago I tried Match.com-- and they wouldn't take my profile down eventhough I cancelled membership. I'm a former model and I always got tons of hits-- something like 33,000 in 6 month-- anyway I repeatedly asked them to take down my site-- but they wouldn't. Then all of a sudden-- I started getting email notices of guys trying to contact me. I called up to try to complain and got stuck in their endless voicemail-- then someone in North Carolina who didn't take me seriously at all and just ignored me giving me some "canned" response. Then 6 months later-- I got this charge on an inactive bank account-- from out of the blue-- for $50.97! I can't imagine how they were able to do that- I certainly didn't authorize it! So I've found a website--- laywersandsettlements.com and another law firm Arias, Ozzello and Gignac LLP about filing a class action lawsuit against them--- I've also filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office in my state. NOt only have I had problems with match.com-- but also with an ISP named Netzero.net-- for a trial-- -where they refused to cancel my trial account! All it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing!! I encourage everyone to go after these jerks!! Try a free website like www.plentyoffish.com-- they're great and they also have a wonderful blog and help for those who need it or just want to talk. Thanks. R.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I have subscibed to match off and on over the last 4 yrs. and have met some really amazing people, dated a few and developed some solid friendships, but have not yet met "the one". As you can imagine, over that period of time, I'm no longer "the freshest meat on the market". I haven't had any action for a while, therefore I let my subscription expire in September to give it a rest and did not intend to reactivate for at least 6 months or so, if at all. At the end of last week, I suddenly had a little flurry of winks and messages so I took advantage of a 3 day "free-trial". At what I believed to be the end of the 72 hours (no e-mail notice sent to remind me) I tried to cancel, but was not able to. When I called customer service I was told that as a courtesy, they would prorate a 1 month subscription and while they would not be able to refund the entire 131.88 I was charged, they would credit back $92.90. When I pressed that I would prefer a full refund I was told that policy would not permit that. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. I was connected with someone in the Jacksonville N.C. call center named Shayla. Shayla barely listened to what I had to say before she started talking right over the top of me. I stopped speaking in order to listen to her...as a courtesy. When I began again to explain my position she once more interupted me stating policy. Through sever interrupted attempts I was finally able to finish my initial thought. Shayla was soley intent on stating policy. Not one word out of her mouth was original. For less than 40 dollars she was willing to sever a business relationship with a customer of over 4 yrs. She gave me the name of the office manager of the Jackson NC call center (Corwin), but he was "in a meeting". I then called the Dallas call center. I had no better luck with the office manager, Brandon. When I asked Brandon the name of the CEO of match he didn't know. His name is Jim Safka, by the way. He lives in Dallas, has a wife named Mandy and two children. All of that information from a simple Google search, but that Brandon could not provide. I did call him back to let him know that name of his own CEO. Wouldn't want him to continue to look foolish. **said with dripping sarcasm**

I just signed up a few days ago, but I must have made a mistake because I am getting men seeking men. I am new to a computer and I must have done something wrong. I do not know how to pull down my profile to look at what I did. Could you please help me. I am signed in as kdoole111. I am a women wanting to date a man. I really am fun and nice, but have been on for four days and have no matchs. Call and let me know what I need to do. 952-942-7058 I really would like to meet a nice man. It is MY mistake not yours, but I don't know how to fix it. Thank you. Kathy Johnson

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I tried it for the first time, and the only response that I ended up getting turned out to be an internet money scam. The girl was looking genericaly for a man 30-60 and replyed to me, a 28 year old with a decent income. The spelling and punctuation did not flow and the terminology matched that of those Nigerian money scams that are going arround. After a few e-mail exchanges, I noticed that she was not paying attention to anything that I had written. Right away, her story changed and she told me she was stuck in Nigeria, of all places and needed money to get home. Screen your members better Match.com!!!!!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I made the mistake of getting one of my guy friends to give match.com a try. In the early days I think it was alright. Now this guy is college educated, has a six pack abs, etc. I mean he is the epitome of a great catch. He just kept making bad local choices so I was hoping he would have some luck looking "outside the box" Well he got few matches, winks, etc. When he did send a wink he would either get no response or thanks but no thanks. This guy is like the all American boy and yet it was obvious most of the ads were fakes or the women not interested. I would say maybe 10% of the people on the site are honest. If you get rejected, don't take it personally because it happens to almost everyone. In fact, if you do find a match it probably means you are weird, lol.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Beware! Match.com serves up "technical difficulties" when you question why your updated profile was not approved, why they lock your profile in hidden mode while you still are a subscriber, and when you ask for a refund when THEY have malfunctioned and cannot fulfill their subscription obligations! Complaints are handled with remorse and directed attacks with "error messages" and blocking from signing in! I swear I haven't provoked them other than requesting a refund of 7 days because they have a glitch in their system they are unable or unwilling to fix! I honestly can't recommend them and am currently searching for another dating site unaffiliated with Match!!!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I am sending you herewith 4 copies of my payments, which were ACCEPTED by you at the date of receipt, for 4 of my teaching-clients as they don't have card-facilities as a lot of poor Asian women don't have! For some obscure reason your company blocked all 4 accounts without explaining, even after requests from our side. Herewith I WARN you NOT to prolongate ANY of these "memberships". I am not supposing that you will take any notice but at least you are warned.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I cannot think of being stupid but perhaps….. because of not getting any reply from your part. Luckily I found in Internet several negative reports about your organisation: in English, in German, in French, in Dutch and in Spanish so I don’t think I am the stupid one. As long as you don’t answer me what I or one of my 4 clients did wrong I can only disgust your ignorance and rudeness. I can assure you that I shall forward my very bad experiences wherever I can in Internet and worth to mouth. I wish you good business!

I was wondering why we have to pay the 24.95 every month on this number 800-926-2824, my husband and I were never been a member, and this amount has been charge to our credit card every month, please explain, you may reply at milletr15@hotmail.com and redpup62@hotmail.com, we hope to hear from you soon.. Thank YOU.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com is a total scam! I signed up for 1 month subscription ($29.99) - and the assholes automatically renewed my account and charged my card! And I didn't even use the service. They refused to refund or credit back my account. They claim it is a "courtesy" that they auto renew people's accounts - what BS!!!! I paid for 30 days and that's all I wanted - not 60+!!! I warn everyone to NEVER subscribe to this site - they are ripoff artists.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I know that men complain about women being gold diggers. The complaint I have as a woman is that I felt most of the men wanted a model. I am a reasonably attractive woman and I have been told (outside of match) that I have a good figure and look younger than my age. On a scale of 1 to 10 I am at least a 6 but most of the guys want about a 9. I don't expect everyone to love me, but I do think many of the guys have their heads in the clouds. Also, I live in a isolated rural area where the pickings aren't great. Why would I want someone with 3 little kids? Also, I felt that some were after me for my money. I have a pretty good job. When I would wink at someone a ways from here, say 100 miles, a couple of days later I would get an e-mail from another person in that same area. Coincidence? I think not. Match was monitoring; in my opinion.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I have had 4 a bit suspicious cases with MATCH with 4 Thai ladies (my teaching-clients) I helped to get subscribed and I paid for them with my creditcard (of course such poor women don't have cards), accepted and a very short while afterwards all 4 accounts were blocked. Almost no way to get an answer. I am still investigating my bank-account and I am curious if they shall deduct the next periode because the ladies cannot stop their subscriptions. Problem is that it is almost impossible to get in proper contact with such hugh companies and when they react like pre-programmed robots. I keep you informed. Antoni P. Uni - Bangkok

Match_Consumer_Complaints

The fact that someone would stoop so low as to place someone's name and town on this website just because a relationship didn't work out is a complete disgrace. If a person is asked out to dinner, and then goes on said "date," but is berated afterwards for doing so. Why lead a person on if it isn't a "match," geez.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Having my full name be published on this website!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Ok my complaint is I have a prepaid bebit card and I sighned up for a 3 day trial and they rejected my trial bc I have not put any money on my card first. Like I am going to give up any money for bullshit. I want hear some succes storys first. I want to see real couples. I doubt it is real. David Trevino

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com is, in my extremely angered opinion, is definitely false advertisement. There are call centers with telemarketers working 3 shifts per day emailing and winking people. I have only been on for 3 weeks but figured this out the first day. I spoke with 4 different men in one week and it was the same person upon investigating the phone numbers. There is an address in Treasure Island Florida with multiple suite numbers matching these phone lisings. I am in process of a lawsuit now due to false advertisement and emotional distress over this operation. Mesing with so many people and misleading them into believing there is a match through this is utter disgust and outright bullshit. I have collected enough evidence to pursue a lawsuit with annonymous employees of match.com. See you bastards in court very soon. Florida resident extremely pissed off

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com does not send e-mails to people who are not members.... WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. If you subscribe and send an e-mail the other person will most likely not get it. This does not work and is in my oppinion a false and misleading business practice.

I just had a bad experience, too. I was automatically charged for an additional 3-month subscription and when I tried to have the charges reversed they flat-out refused! I've contacted ABC-TV and CBS-TV so far via the internet. Guys and gals, if all we do it bitch on these sites nothing is going to be done. We must contact the media!!! These companies hate bad press. They lose alot of money! So, contact your local and network television stations, contact your local newspapers. Let's get the word out!!! Barri, nyc

Match_Consumer_Complaints

same thing, i signed up for match.com and cancelled it in March of this year and i haven't looked at my credit card statement that closely but just notices they have been taking money out of my account since March and won't stop!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Match.com obtained my debit card in a fraudulent manner and charged it. I did an audit of my account and found it. I filed an affadivit of unauthorized charge. I am contacting the attorney general's office in Texas to file a criminal complaint against them.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

The idea behind Match.com makes alot of sense. There are millions of wonderful women out there, but I need to meet them before I can find the one who's right for me. So I posted a profile on Match.com and sent them the money. After I did so, I began to realize several truths. Since you can't look at people's profiles without signing up, and who wants to pay without looking to see how many potential soulmates Match.com has in its database, lots of people sign up without sending any money. Match.com leaves these profiles in the database, since it looks great for those shopping. But Match.com will not deliver and email to any of those members, so if you send an email and you don't get a response, there's a good chance that Match.com didn't deliver it. You've probably already established that the "free trials" aren't. If, like me, you're dissatisfied with Match.com, take a moment to complain to the BBB (complaints@dallas.bbb.org). Be prepared to respond after Match.com replies, since if you don't continue to complain, the BBB decides that you are satisfied! Tell them Alistair sent you. A

HOPE YOU RESPOND. BIG PROBLEM. I ALWAYS HEAR FROM GUYS WHO LIVE IN NEW JERSEY, FLORIDA, PLACES TOO FAR AWAY. I LIVE IN MARYLAND!!! Match_Consumer_Complaints

Try this on for size: 1- I am not EVEN a MEMBER of Match.com, 2- I have somehow been confused with a member named Billqu894, and 3- I am a female. I got my first email from Match.com about a week ago. I think I deleted that one. The next email came with pictures of women! I have received a second and third email with women's pictures. I don't want these emails, and I'm sure these women would be pretty surprised their pictures are being sent to a woman. I emailed Customer Care and told them this has got to stop. I said I would start emailing these ladies to tell them Match.com is sending their photos to another woman and would let them decide what they think of this service. Well, from what I've read so far about trying to get help from Match.com, it's like talking to a wall. At first, I thought Match.com might be a free service, but now I see that there is a charge, often even after you think you've cancelled. From what I've heard about their customer service, that alone should end up putting them out of business. If I am getting all these photos of women, what's Billqu894, a paying member, getting?

Match should be sued for outright internet fraud. The fact that you pay to send a note to someone and Match refuses to deliver that note unless the recipient ALSO pays to receive it should be investigated.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

To whom this may concern, this is a complaint of recieving a draft from my bank account, not authorized by me,and as a result because of that draft,it left my account111.oo in the negative ,I can't get my Insulin, nor buy food, not to mention my account is presenty messed up,and I will be seeking Legal assistance to,get my money back.I find it very hard to believe that verification wasn't taken before this draft was taken.I may even be asked to vacate my apartment because I can't even pay rent, now how is that for a shocker.L.P.s

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I signed up for a 6 month membership about 2 months ago. I cannot sign on - Match tells me I don't have an account. It took me an hour to find out how to contact you and customer service could only give me this email. I want to know what is wrong with my service.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

The biggest problem with match.com is that about half of the profiles are of nonsubscribers (I know this from a secret but reliable source) and they do not deliver messages to people who are not subscribed - they don't even say who it's from. So, many people are baited into signing up by a great ad, thinking that their message will at least be delivered in return for their payment - but no. Seriously fraudulent. They do deliver winks to nonsubscribers, but then nonsubscribers can send them. I don't believe claims that they post fake ads - they just have many users who are flaky. Be sure to read the fine print on their subscription policies - it's all there, including the fact that you can sign up for their 3-day trial online, but to cancel the 3-day subscription, they have to receive a paper mail notice at their office in texas before the end of those 3 days. So basically you have to send your cancellation before you subscribe. Yahoo is just as bad. It's really not that hard to google "free online dating" to find sites like okcupid and plentyoffish that don't put you through this BS. It's too bad that more people haven't done this yet, so that these sites would have more users.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

I was very unhappy with Match as well and demanded a refund by email, I emailed everyone I could find connected with the company including corporate officers of their parent company. After months I did get a refund. Pursue Pursue Puruse. I don't have all the emails so you'll need to do some digging. Follow all the other advice in this thread. They will lose in court and have to pay restitution and the company will fold. Every other PAID dating service is going to have problems. In fact every internet subscription service where they can auto renew you is going to have problems, but if enough people disput the cc charges and chargeback the credit card co will ban the offenders.

Match_Consumer_Complaints

match.com isn't worth it people! A prime example is pre-school teacher Melissa Molvar from Douglas, MA who has been on there for three years! match is full of serial daters - men and women who just wanta date nothing more, and women who want a free dinner - right Melissa?

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Hello. I will try to make this short. I signed up for a one month subscription with Match.com on May 30. First, for 2 days I couldn't get a photo posted. NO ONE returned my emails requesting help. Finally my pictures posted. Then for one wholeday, maybe the next day, my profile was not available/viewable to any other members. No responses or apologies to my emails...Now...2 days ago, I attempted to log onto my acct and was greeted with a message that said " unable to log on to acct. Please call customer svc at 800....." I called them immediately and was then told that they had no info regarding my acct and that I needed to email "abuseteam@match.com" I was very confused at this point as to what the problem was. I researched what the "abuse team" was and discovered that they apparently handle problems/concerns between members. I emailed them immediately requesting some kind of explanation as to what the problem was as I had NOT in ANY way, shape or form violated any of their rules nor had I bothered ANYONE in a negative way. I barely had any communication with anyone!!!! The small amount of communication that I did have was very nice. I have emailed them repeatedly and it is not going on 3 days that I have not been able to access my acct. I have been charged for a service and locked out of it without ANY kind of explanation. I sent an email to let customer service know that I DID NOT want to renew my subscription when it expires at the end of the month and they havent bothered to respond. Tonight, I called the 800 # again to let them know that I did not want to renew. The girl (Nicole) then put me on hold for 3-4 minutes and came back to let me know that since I emailed cust svc to cancel that I had to "wait" for them to send me an email and since my acct was on hold that it had to be investigated first!!! What the heck is that??? I can't believe the things that I have come across as far as the problems that people everywhere are having with Match. Including people having the SAME EXACT problem as I am. Quite a coincidence. It's not the $30 that I have lost but what is going on behind it. I am sooooo angry and so are 1000's of others. So many people have been scammed by Match in many different ways... something has to be done to these greedy, scamming SOB's! I found a website to an attorney in CA that is in the process of filing a class action lawsuit. The website address is: http://www.aogllp.com/cui2.cfm?id=9 I emailed them with my info tonight and I hope something can be done. I am also writing them to let them know that I will be pursuing a small claim against them. Again, it's not the money, it's the principal. Good Luck!

Here is some information to add to other complaints. I have had the same billing problems. I told them I didn't want to roll over my membership. Well, it worked once. Toward the end of the first month they sent me reminders to renew. I renewed for three months. I called and told them again that I did not want to renew at the end of the next three months. Well, guess what someone forgot to enter that into the Match.com computer. So, they have no record of this call. But, my credit card was billed. The customer relations people informed me that I had used the email service. I told them that if the service had been cancelled as I had asked then that would not have happened. In other words, it's my fault. Here is something you can do. The current president is Jim Safka (as of May 2006) The address of the company is 8300 Douglas Avenue, Suite 800, Dallas, TX 75225-5826 Supposedly, Tony Johnson is the manager over customer relations. His extension is 214 His assistant is Jennifer Atkins. I live in Washington state. You can file with a complaint with the attorney general's office in this state. They will contact Match.com and see what type of response is given. As is usual for the state of Texas, many companies who locate there do so because of the liberal laws. The state does not monitor businesses in the state very carefully. Reference back to the favorite company of all time Enron. It appears that Match.com is not incorporated under the name Match.com. So, if you wanted to sue the company you need to find out its name and then you can find out its agent. It located there in January of 2000 from New Jersey. Beware of companies incorporated in Texas.

I signed up about 1 wk. ago or less and I cannot receive any answers on my e-mail. I have tried to change to the same as the ones that come in to me - name@talkmatch.com. I can't return the msg. sent to me. This is not fair! I paid for 1 mo. at $29.99, have rec'd many winks but CANNOT return the calls. If they can come in on "talkmatch.com" why can't I answer them? You are a very unfair company, and would never recommend anyone using. You make it all sound so cheap and easy, but make it impossible to return msg rec'd from anyone. Why is this? You are a fraudulent company and treating people that put their "golden years" in ur hands, as well as young people, and make it sound like a fairy tale. Believe you cheat everyone! Again, I ask why can I receive msgs but cannot return them. Is this fair? I don't think so. That was just $29.99 I wasted! And with no results. Thanks for nothing! Very upset and angry in Florida!!!

Hi.I am absolutely fuming. If i had known that other members would not be able to reply to my messages, i would not have subscribed for a month.I put in a full complaint to match com and i am only getting automated replies.Match com is a fraudulent company and has no concerns for happiness of its members. They are obviously only in this for the money. I would like to know why Match.com offers subscriptions in monthly increments,..like 2 months for this price and 3 months for that price,..if they are going to automatically charge your credit card after the time you subscribed to,.is over???! What is the Point? Why don't they just tell you it's so much per month EVERY month and you will be billed EVERY MONTH automatically unless you cancel your membership!?? Know why? 'Cause they're scammers! and you will not receive a response from Customer service either! C'mon,...soneone out there with money do a class action on these assholes!

On or about January 14, 2006, I telephoned Match.com to purchase a subscription to their service. Prior to that time, I had a membership in their service which did not require payment. The paid subscription included additional items not offered to regular members. The subscription was for the limited term of three (3) months and cost $35.68, for which I paid by providing the Match.com telephone representative with my credit card number. The purchase was transacted entirely over the telephone. The charge of $35.68 was posted to my credit card statement on January 15, 2006, and has been paid in full. Yesterday, May 22, 2006, I received my current monthly credit card statement. Listed is a charge in the amount of $50.97 that was posted to my account on April 18, 2006, by Match.com. I never authorized this charge. Today I sent an email to CustomerCare@Match.com informing them that I had not authorized the charge of $50.97, and asked them to contact my credit card company to have the charge removed. They responded to me with an email which contains the following: "Match.com currently has a 'no refund policy'. When you select 'subscribe', your credit card is charged immediately and, unless you resign, your subscription is automatically renewed after your initial subscription period is complete." Since I placed my subscription entirely over the telephone, I never selected "subscribe" on their online website. I have contacted my credit card company and have placed the charge in dispute. In addition, I have reported the matter to the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Better Business Bureau.

The worst possible customer service! they just refuse to deal with concerns or questions if it doesn't benefit them. I've asked them repeatedly to confirm that I've cancelled my membership since everytime I check I see it as reactivated,..they just won't get back to me. I told them,..if they automatically charge me again,.even though I've cancelled,.I will notify the BBB and the FTC. These people are like Vultures! that Cohen guy must really need money. I can only pray and hope that someone with a lot of money for attorneyscand high connections take's this place out! I hope someone does a class action lawsuit,...these people arre scammers,..trying to tell me that they only have 34 pages of members within a 1000 mile radius of my home,...yeah,..screw you Match.com!

Match_Consumer_Complaints

Aside from the fact that Match.com automantically renew's memebership without notice,.I've actually had to cancel my credit card to keep them from doing it even though I cancelled membership way in advance of expiration,.they are full of it when it comes to other members. How is it that with their "millions" of members,..when I have very generous perameters (males 30 to 44 within 800 miles of my zip) I only get max of 40 members coming back??? That's all they've got? Same 40 members,.day in day out. I can come up with more than 40 single guys within just 50 miles of my zip! I'd love to get my hands on this Cohen guy. And to the guys that complain that the women on Match are all shallow, money hungry, witches,..well,.maybe it you weren't looking only for supermodel types, and gave average women a chance..you'd have better luck. Men complain that women only want studs who are tall with muscles and money,..yet all they want (men) are supermodels. So it's the same. It all boils down to shallow people in the world,..and Match.com being a sneaky, underhanded company that will someday fall.

F#$%ing fake wink got me to sign up. Only way to cancel was spend more $ on a $30 dollar telegram or go to the post office and send a registered letter I'm guessing is the same cost. All are equal to the subscribtion
